Planning & shooting

For this shoot I wanted to focus on Affleck's Palace in Manchester. Affleck's Palace homes many small independant, shops that are unique and interesting. I wanted to find a shop with real character, and thought this would be the perfect place to find it. I tried shooting within some upbeat, Japanese shops in Affleck's yet could not gain permission. I therefore turned to look for vintage shops, as they are very popular at the moment and therefore looking to photograph them could create an interesting project.

Pop Boutique:

Pop Boutique is the name of the shop I shot in, the shop specialises in vintage and vintage-style clothing and accessories. I chose to photograph in this shop as I felt it had a lot of character. The busy, cluttered mixture of fabrics and patterns gave a very eclectic atmosphere, almost like an 'Aladdin's cave' of clothing that could be searched through for hours. I focused on the main aspects of the shop that stood out to me, such as the checked shirts and the old leathers. The shop owner stood out to me especially due to the fact he was wearing a shirt very similar (if not the same) as those within the shop. His stance and appearance mirrored the awkward yet interesting feel of the shop.

I was however quite rushed within this shop so did not get to explore as much as possible, and therefore may re-shoot in further detail.
